A continuación publicamos una información enviada por el Dr. ARNO LINDER, relacionados con la medicina del equino, que se realizaran durante el año 2013.
Dear friends and colleagues!
I hope that you are well!
The deadline for submitting expanded abstracts of your work related to the nutrition, training and rehabilitation of sport and racehorses is approaching: May 3, 2013! Guidelines for submission are listed at and downloadable from www.enutraco.info
Those of you interested in the subjects may like to add the dates of the conference in your agenda: November 25 to 27, with practical courses on November 28. Site of the event is Bonn, Germany (easy to reach by train from Duesseldorf – DUS – and Frankfurt – FRA – airports as well as by bus from Cologne/Bonn Airport – CGN).
The program of ENUTRACO is taking shape. So far Pat Harris and Carey Williams will talk on November 25 (on “Nutrition and the equine musculoskeletal system: performance vs welfare?” and “Feeding sport horses to reduce oxidative stress” resp.), Rachel Murray and Adamantios Arampatzis on November 26 (on “Optimizing training of dressage and show jumping horses” and “How to train muscles and tendons in human athletes” resp.) and Melissa King, Kirsten Legerlotz and Sheila Schils on November 27 (on “Equine carpal osteoarthritis and thoracic limb function: effects of aquatic rehabilitation”, “Tendon rehabilitation in human athletes” and “Applying electrical stimulation to rehab muscle and tendons of horses” resp.).
Talking about Pat Harris and equine nutrition: Ray Geor, Manfred Coenen and herself put together the recently published book entitled “Equine Applied and Clinical Nutrition“. She send me a leaflet of the book and using code EACN20 at checkout when ordering at www.elsevierhealth.com you can get a discount of 20% (if interested in the leaflet contact me directly).
Finally I have been approached by an USA based company that likes to draw your attention to a new journal: Equine VeterinarianTM: Illuminating the Science and Art of Practice!
They write “This invaluable tool will help you provide optimal care to your equine patients while also providing insight into all aspects of equine practice. Published four times per year, Equine VeterinarianTM offers peer-reviewed, up-to-date information for the entire veterinary team, including an in-depth article for veterinary technicians in each issue. In addition, photographs and images illustrate pertinent points in each article. Equine VeterinarianTM: Illuminating the Science and Art of Practice has been created by equine veterinarians to enhance equine veterinary practice!”.
When interested check www.EquineVeterinarian.com“.
Wish you health and nice activities from sunny Juelich!
